While I hadn't really forgotten just how good Oblivion is, it is only after having played Fallout 3 for so long that I can see just how detailed and complex it can be. Fallout 3, though it is slightly odd to admit it, isn't as good. The setting is, obviously, completely different and the voice acting is significantly better... but the stories, characters, world and the mechanics of the game all, in my opinion, pale in comparison to Oblivion. This doesn't make Fallout 3 a bad game by any stretch of the imagination... it's still an amazing game... it's just not quite as good as Oblivion.
Inevitably, whenever I'm looking for something else to play, I've spent a fair amount of time on the Xbox. Saints Row 2 being the main attraction, though I've also spent a rather unhealthy amount of my time playing... Kingdom for Keflings.
If you've not come across this, it is an Xbox Arcade title. A very simple 'world builder' game. No combat or conflict... just you (as your Xbox avatar) resource gathering and building a kingdom, while directing the inhabitants of this world, the Keflings, to assist you with this task. Very simple, and very addictive.
Other than the games, I've been spending a bit of time messing around with a couple of new web-based toys. The first is GamerDNA. A site that monitors my Xbox Live, Xfire and Steam profiles and tracks what games I've been playing and the achievements I've racked up. The other is 360voice... which gives my Xbox 360 it's very own blog! It's a fairly simple idea; the site monitors my Xbox Live profile and uses the information to generate blog posts (the latest of which you will find on the right-hand side of my blog page). All just a bit of fun.
